Frequently Asked Question’s

FAQ’S are here to try and answer those little questions to give you more of an understanding about the service and how I work with you.

What is your biggest tip in helping us plan a wedding day?
I actually get asked this quite alot so my advice would be to work with your photographer in an initial plan for your day so it all runs smoothly with making sure you are happy with all the timings. From a photographic point a view, venues with plenty of natural light are great. If I have not worked at your venue, I will take the time to visit it with you to plan out the days logistics. A second meeting at the venue can usually tie in with our engagement shoot nearer the wedding. By this stage we will have ironed out the plans for your day leaving you to enjoy it.

What is the ‘evening surprise’ mentioned on your website?
The evening surprise will be fully explained to you once we have our initial conversations about your day. It involves working with your guests to create a unique gift for you after the day.

Can we see a sample gallery of how our final images will look online?
Yes, if you would like to view a sample you can see the most recent weddings in the ‘latest pages’ or ‘wedding stories’ section above.

How long do you stay for on the wedding day?
Your wedding album should be a storybook of the day and for that reason my coverage includes everything from the preparations right through to the evening celebrations. We are even known to stay past midnight to your last dance.

How far will you travel to shoot a wedding?
My team and I will be ready to travel long distances even overseas. For distances over 30 miles from AL5, I ask for an agreed amount towards travel and accomodation expenses. For destination weddings, full travel expenses will be added to the usual package price.

How far in advance do we need to book your services?
Certain dates are more popular than others and its always best to secure your photographer as early as you can. This is to incorporate the photographers advice into the planning stages of your wedding. Bookings can be made upto 3 years before your date, but its not out of the question for me to accept a booking with just a few days notice! As soon as an initial deposit is paid, your wedding date is completely secured.

How long after the day will the photographs be ready to view online?
I aim to complete your wedding photographs up to five weeks after the day during peak season. This ensures the highest quality is achieved from your wedding photos. The next day I update this blog with a few photographs which gives your guests an idea of what is to come. Upon return from your honeymoon I send your proof book and work together towards your final storybook album.

Do we have any input into the design of our album?
Yes of course. I initially design a proof album and send you the PDF. You then let me know if you like to make any changes. We will work together to ensure you are happy with every page before the album goes to print.

Do you require a deposit for bookings?
A deposit of £150 is required to secure that all-important day, with the balance of the fee payable 7 days before the wedding.

Are you insured for our wedding?
We have two types of insurance which applies throughout your wedding. Public Liability Insurance and Professional Indemity Insurance for your peace of mind. For destination weddings, we incorportate the costs of addition insurance for photographing abroad into your quote.

How many photographs would you expect to take on our wedding day?
There is no limit to amount of photographs I take on the day. It all depends on exactly whats happening during the day but I estimate around 1500 images. From this I aim to show you around 400 which have all been through post processing. We work on the priciple of quality rather then quantity.
