Here are just a few tips from my experience of photographing weddings.
- The most important thing on your day is to completely relax and enjoy yourself. It is a photographers, caters and master of cemories job to work together and make sure there is a natural flow to your day.
- Before the day, we meet and plan the timings so that we all know what comes when. Working with the best man, I cover the main group shot first to release your guests of their duties and make sure any pre arranged family portraits are dealt with swiftly, whilst ensuring attention to detail.
- The best weddings have minimal travel time between the church and venue. I recommend that this distance is as short as possible. Whilst I ensure everything is covered it is good for you to have time to relax after the service. Reportage, family portraits and time for your photographs together are all covered while your guests enjoy the day. Some fantastic weddings take place all in one venue. It allows for the guests to relax the moment they arrive and allow for brilliant photographs in the grounds.
- For brides that may not be so confident in front of the camera, my best advice is to talk with your photographer as they will work with you to build your confidence in the shoot. I have clients that come with shot styles they like or something close to them they want included and we use the engagement shoot to explore these photographic opportunities openly without any time constraints.
- When selecting your photographer, you will be putting alot of trust into his or her ability, so make sure you feel comfortable with them and most importantly…Enjoy It!
